What Serena collects, what it does with it, and what you can ask us to delete. Plain English first; legal text below.

The short version

Serena's analyze endpoint takes the text you submit, runs it through the symbolic pipeline, and returns a 7D affect vector, a 12D emotion vector, and a trace ID. By default, both your input and the resulting trace are stored against the trace ID so you can inspect or replay it later.

You can request deletion of a trace at any time by emailing hello@serenachat.com with the trace ID. We will delete it within seven days.

What we collect

Authenticated users. Email and display name from Beyond the Box identity. The traces you submit. Any custom instructions you save. Standard request logs (IP, user agent, timestamp) for thirty days.

Anonymous users (/try). Submitted text. The trace generated from it. A short-lived rate-limit counter keyed by IP. No account record is created.

What we don't do

We do not train neural language models on your inputs — Serena contains no neural model. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising. We do not retain analytics data beyond what is needed to run the service.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie for authentication, and (with your consent via the cookie banner) anonymous analytics for site performance. You can reject analytics at any time without losing functionality.
